THERE IS NO REDEMPTION FOR THE DEVIL
SECOND OF FOUR PART STUDY
‘How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world. For you said to yourself. ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s star. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.’ But instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths. Everyone there will stare at you and ask, ‘Can this be the one who shook the earth and the kingdoms of the world?” – Isaiah 14:12-16
• There could be several interpretations for the fallen one in these verses. He is Satan, because the person referred to here is too powerful to be any human king. Pride was Satan’s sin and it is true that pride willfully opposes God and will result in judgments. Israel made the mistake of being too proud to depend on God, and we are very vulnerable to that same mistake.
“When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none.” – Matthew 12:43
“For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.” – Ephesians 6:12
• These are not flesh and blood these are demons over whom Satan has control. They are fantasies but they are very real. We face a powerful army whose goal is to defeat Christ’s church. When we believe in Christ, these beings become our enemies, and they try every device to turn us away from him and back to sin.
“Then there was a war in heaven. Michael and the angels under his command fought the dragon and his angels. And the dragon lost the battle and was forced out of heave. This great dragon-the ancient serpent called the Devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world-was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.” – Revelation 12:7-9
• Daniel 12:1 was fulfilled by Michael a high ranking angel who has as one of his responsibilities he is to guard God’s community of believers. Much more happened at Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection than most people realize. A war between the forces of good and evil was under way. With the resurrection of Christ Satan’s ultimate defeat was assured. Let’s remember that Christ is already victorious – Satan was already defeated because of Christ’s death on the cross (Revelation 12:10-12)
I. The reason there was and is no redemption for Satan and his spirits is that there was no tempter to tempt them. They fell by their own choice. Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41)
• Man is a spirit, he has a soul and he lives in a body
• Demon possession is spirit, soul and body
• An evil spirit can enter into the soul or mental part of man or into the physical part of man and not even touch his spirit
• The boy in Mark 9:14 was not possessed, he was oppressed, this was a physical ailment
II. It is when we act upon knowledge that we will experience results
• The Word of God is the only to divide soul and spirit (Hebrews 4)
• 1 John 5:16 – Read the good side of this scripture as well as the bad
Ask for forgiveness of others
• Hebrews 6:4-6 Only Jesus can know this man’s heart
• Hebrew 10:26-31
• Speak to the spirits with all of the authority that you have been given
• Evil spirit affecting the life of ___________ and manifesting yourself in his/her life, stop in the Name of Jesus
• We all have the right to deal with the devil in the Name of Jesus, not just those in the ministry
• The evil spirit’s job is to hinder, intimidate, embarrass or retard each and every one of our ministries
• Matthew 12:18-21 – Satan’s judgment
• The Holy Spirit casts out devils Matthew 12:28, 1 John 4:4
III. Judgment on Satan (Ezekiel 28:13-19)
• Ezekiel 28:16 - “…I expelled you”
• Ezekiel 28:17 - “…So I threw you to the earth”
• Ezekiel 28:18 – “…So I brought fire from within you, and it consumed you.”
• Ezekiel 28:19 – ”…And you are no more.”
• Isaiah 14:12-17 – Verse 15 “But instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths.”
• Matthew 25:41 - Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels
• John 16:11 – “The prince of the world has already been judged.”
• Matthew 8:29 – Devils confessing Jesus as the Son of God, yet Jesus cast them out and in Matthew 12:43 - Jesus said that a devil goes into the dry places seeking rest and finding none.
• Acts 19:15 – This devil says that he knows Jesus, yet Jesus still calls him evil – no redemption. James 2:19 - Devils believe and tremble.
• We were never told to love the devil. We are to resist him (James 4:7, 1 Peter 5:8-9). Ephesians 4:27 – “For anger gives a mighty foothold to the Devil”
IV. “This great dragon, the ancient serpent called the Devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world, was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.” – Revelation 12:9
• “And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the day of judgment.”
• Jude 7 – They will suffer vengeance of eternal fire.
• Revelation 20:1-3 – The dragon, the serpent, the devil, Satan himself is bound and cast into the pit for 1,000 years. Revelation 20:10 – Satan is cast into the lake of fire to be tormented day and night forever and ever
V. The seven things that God hates – Proverbs 6:16-19
• All seven were created by Satan
• Verse 17 - …”A lying tongue – Satan is the father of liars (John 8:44)
• Jesus said the truth is not in Satan
God does not love Satan, God hates Satan because when Satan speaks a lie he speaks of his own for he is the father of it (John 8:44).
